Sonya Vseliubska is a Donbas-born Ukrainian film writer and scholar based between Cambridge, Amsterdam, and Kyiv. She is a film critic for Ukrainska Pravda, one of Ukraine's leading online newspapers, and for Vogue Ukraine. She is a regular contributor to Documentary Magazine and Modern Times Review.

Her writing can also be found in Filmmaker Magazine, e-flux, IndieWire, Mubi Notebook, Variety, and Little White Lies, among other publications. Sonya is a member of FIPRESCI, a voter for the 82nd and 83rd editions of the Golden Globes, and an alumna of the 2025 Locarno Critics Academy. She has moderated for International Film Festival Rotterdam and Barbican London.

Sonya is an MPhil student on the Film and Screen Studies course at the University of Cambridge. Her academic focus lies in the politics and aesthetics of (Ukrainian) War Documentary. She is also a member of Cambridge's Digital Verification Corps for Amnesty International.
